In the event you are victimized by the theft of any of your personal information, immediate action is mandatory to minimize the damage. File a crime report with your local Police department, and request a copy.
Contact your bank and all of your creditors by telephone immediately to report the situation, and follow up your call with a letter outlining the suspected fraud. The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) recommends you maintain a correspondence file
of all of your communications with credit agencies, financial institutions, and other parties contacted about the theft. Detail all conversations, correspondence, and actions you’ve taken.
IMPORTANT: If you are a customer of Mission Valley Bank and have experienced suspicious activity regarding your accounts or are a victim of identity theft, report the fraudulent activity to us immediately by calling 1-818-394-2300.
Additionally, contact the fraud departments of the major credit reporting agencies
and advise them that your identity has been compromised. Request they place an alert on your credit report immediately and obtain a copy of each of the credit reports for your review.
