Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) for Individuals

Set money aside for health care that's tax-free.

A Health Savings Account (HSA) is a new, portable, savings account that allows you to set aside money for health care that's tax-free. You must have high deductible health insurance to open an HSA. Different from other benefit products, an HSA rolls over from year to year (there is no “use it or lose it”), interest is paid, and it is owned by you, not your employer. Many liken an HSA to a “medical IRA.”

  • Rolls over from year to year.
  • Tax-free money for health care.
  • Owned by you, not your employer.

While your tax consultant is the best resource to determine whether or not a HSA is the right choice for you, Mission Valley Bank's friendly banking experts can provide you with more information about our Health Savings Accounts and how they may benefit you and your family.
